Graduating with highest honors in Piano and Composition, Luca Zabbini was born on March 26, 1984, in S. Giovanni in Persiceto, in the heart of Bologna. From a young age, Luca showed a deep affinity for music, growing up in a family of musicians: a pianist grandfather, a flutist and saxophonist father, and a drummer uncle. With perfect pitch, music became an intrinsic part of his identity.
At just six years old, Luca began taking piano lessons, laying the foundation for his musical career. Listening to his father’s vinyl records, particularly the works of Emerson Lake & Palmer, inspired his musical path.
In 1995, at the age of eleven, Luca made his stage debut with the band “Fattore Comune,” a ’70s funk cover band. A year later, he founded his first band, “K2,” dedicated to progressive rock with tracks by E.L.&P., P.F.M., and New Trolls.
At the age of thirteen, Luca enrolled in the “O. Vecchi” Conservatory in Modena, specializing as a pianist. Subsequently, he began a composition course under the guidance of Prof. Antonio Giacometti. In 2009, he graduated with honors in Piano, followed by a diploma in Composition in 2011 with the highest marks.
Luca has collaborated with numerous prominent artists such as Maurizio Solieri, Daniele Tedeschi (V. Rossi), Adriano Molinari (Zucchero), Ricky Portera and Iskra Menarini (L. Dalla, Stadio), Alberto Camerini, Vittorio De Scalzi (New Trolls), Franz Di Cioccio, and Patrick Djivas (PFM). Since 2001, he has played in various cover bands and as a solo artist, performing on stages across Italy. He has also participated in theatrical productions such as the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” and was a touring keyboardist with Alberto Camerini’s band from 2007 to 2009.
In 2003, Luca founded the band Barock Project, a band that uniquely blends symphonic and classical music with innovative pop structures. The band has released seven international albums and performed worldwide, participating in international festivals in Japan, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and England.
In 2017, he performed a piano recital at the Kioicho Salon Hall in Tokyo in memory of Keith Emerson.
In recent years, Luca contributed to the arrangements and composition of the album “I Dreamed of Electric Sheep” by the legendary band PFM in 2020. In 2021, he released his solo album “One,” composed, played, and recorded in his studio during the 2020 lockdown.
Since 2022, he has been a keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist on PFM’s tour, demonstrating his versatility and dedication to music.
Luca has nurtured his passion for music production and mixing for over twenty years, becoming the artistic producer of Barock Project’s albums. In addition to his performing career, he teaches piano at the “Musicology” school in Modena, contributing to the training of new generations of musicians. He also collaborates with the music production company IK Multimedia as an official endorser, confirming his ongoing commitment to innovation and music technology.

Diplomato col massimo dei voti in Pianoforte e Composizione, Luca Zabbini è nato il 26 marzo 1984 a S. Giovanni in Persiceto, nel cuore del bolognese. Fin da giovane, Luca ha mostrato una profonda affinità con la musica, crescendo in una famiglia di musicisti: un nonno pianista, un padre flautista e sassofonista, e uno zio batterista. A soli sei anni, Luca ha iniziato a prendere lezioni di pianoforte, gettando le basi per la sua carriera musicale. L’ascolto dei vinili del padre, in particolare delle opere di Emerson Lake & Palmer, ha ispirato il suo percorso musicale.

Dal 2022, è diventato tastierista, chitarrista ritmico e vocalist in tour con Premiata Forneria Marconi, dimostrando la sua versatilità e dedizione alla musica.
Luca coltiva da più di vent’anni la passione per la produzione musicale e il mixaggio, diventando produttore artistico degli album dei Barock Project. Oltre alla sua carriera esecutiva, insegna pianoforte presso la scuola “Musicology” di Modena, contribuendo alla formazione delle nuove generazioni di musicisti. Collabora inoltre con l’azienda di produzione musicale IK Multimedia come endorser ufficiale, confermando il suo impegno nell’innovazione e nella tecnologia musicale.
Parallelamente alla carriera da musicista, Luca Zabbini è attivo anche come produttore, compositore e arrangiatore. Con una solida esperienza nell’ambito delle produzioni musicali, lavora quotidianamente utilizzando i principali software di registrazione e produzione, tra cui Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, Cakewalk e Studio One.
